"Dear Mike, received your note re the Ryman pup I just picked up from DeCoverly. I will be glad to talk to you about this year old started female and the female I got from Ken in 1985. In short, you cannot go wrong with these people. They just don't sell dogs. They put grouse dogs with real grouse hunters. These dogs have been raised and started the right way, even the weanling pups. I have gone both ways. The dog I brought home is easy to handle and looks for birds even when I take her out on our farm for a walk. She responds eagerly and not out of fear. She has been started the old time way.
